Well, I was on a roll to have a great week keeping my household budget under control and then life happened.  I was going to run by Aldi yesterday and pick up some produce that they have on sale this week but, I had a baby wake up with an ear infection.  Have you ever shopped with a really cranky 1 year old?  I ran, almost tipped a shopping cart with the crying child inside,  through Aldi just trying to get the few things I needed.  As we traveled down each aisle at light speed she points and I throw whatever it is in the cart just so she’ll stopping crying for a few minutes.  Then we come to the check out where, of course there is 5 old(er) couples in front of me, who just look at me and say with their eyes “Your not getting in front of me!”  So as we stand in line I let her play with whatever is within arms reach.  As we check out I have my $13 dollars left over in my grocery envelope and the nice cashier tells me that my total is $18.00. At this point I say to myself whatever, just let me out of here.  (Now, for those of you who don’t know me personally, I use the envelope system.  Every two weeks when my hubby gets paid we divide up our money into envelopes.  When the money gone it’s gone!  So whenever I go over in the household budget, it comes out of my personal money (ie. allowance)).  So I paid for the groceries and left Aldi without even sacking them.  The story gets even better from here.  I still have about $10 more in groceries to buy since we have to go to a potluck at church this Sunday.  Oh well,  I guess Starbucks will just have to wait until I get paid again.

So this week I totally blew it as far as staying under budget.

How did you do?  Our readers would love to hear what your budget is and how many people you have in your family.
