Did you sign up for the ALL YOU Grocery Challenge?  This contest is sponsored by ALL YOU and has challenged people across America to cut their food spending.  You are allowed to spend $25 per person per week for 4 weeks.  You must keep all your receipts and try to help others with tips and recipes.

At first I thought no big deal, I spend around $70 for 6 people per week.  (That includes all household and baby products)  Then I started to read the fine print, they always get you with the fine print, when they say $25 per person it means not only food you purchase at the store but also eating out and any on-the-go snacks or drinks.

OK – so I might be in over my head now.

If you know our family, we eat out almost every Sunday.  Sundays are crazy insane for us.  By the time we step out of church, 2 of the 4 kids are in melt down mode and the other two are arguing about who gets to sit up front in the car.  We like fast food on Sundays and that doesn’t mean McDonald’s or Taco Bell.  It means we have to have our food FAST. Any place with a buffet or chips and salsa on the table are always good choices.  We usually spend around $20-$40 for our Sunday lunch.

We also like to stop at Sonic for “Happy Hour Drinks” on our way to the pool.  This doesn’t cost too much, but I have never kept track of what it costs.

Boy, am I going to have to get organized!

I can’t back out now, I already signed up.  Maybe I should have signed up under a false name.  What do you think of “Scary Coupon Lady”?

Are you brave enough to take this jouney with me?  I’m renaming it.

Wow! Good luck. I don’t know if I’ll sign up, but I’ll try to play along on my own. Not sure I can do it. ;)
